Here is a quick care for Data Science Aspirants

Did you know that preparing portfolio will increase your chances of landing a data science job exponentially?

By the end of this blog you will get to know some quick cure that will help you to transform from data science aspirants to data scientist.

Here are the 5 quick cure:

1. STARTING JOURNEY WITH STATISTICS

Most of the people are making mistake by starting their journey with some random machine learning algorithm. They ignore the fact that these algorithms are based on statistical fundamentals. Until these fundamentals are not clear you cannot be sure to apply any algorithm according to the scenario. If I would be starting my journey I would dedicate my whole time on studying statistics before touching any code or algorithm.

2. CONSISTENT LEARNING

People often underestimate the power of consistency. You don't need to put long hours on studying data science. But one hour a day can do a lots of wonders. But make sure to make this one hour of data science everyday. If not studying then just spend this one hour on kaggle. I am sure that you will find something interesting there everytime you visit the site, whether it is a notebook, dataset or competition.

3. PREPARING PORTFOLIO

Learning algorithm is the crucial part of learning data science but not implementing it won't get you too far. You need to learn it implement it in some scenario and then do a project using a big dataset or problem. You need to have a collection of these project and present it on any platform that will act as your portfolio. This will help recruiters to know that you can actually do the things you mentioned on your resume.

4. COMPETE ON KAGGLE

From the previous point, the best platform to find such project and scenarios is kaggle. While I am writing this blog "30 days of kaggle" is going on and many newbies are participating. You can look into datasets, problems and notebooks of great data science enthusiasts. I won't be wrong if I say that it's heaven for data science aspirants.

5. LEARNING FROM OTHERS

If you are on this blog, then it's a signn that you are not solely relying on any course. Catching up with other data scientists will help you to get through the questions that none of the courses are willing to answer you. And the community is wide open to accept questions and helping younout with the journey.
